Freedom Trail in the crapper

NorthEndWaterfront.com posts a photo of a toilet that's been sitting on the Freedom Trail on Hull Street near Old North Church since Tuesday, along with a note from the disgusted photographer:

... Why the stewards of the historic shrine or any of the commercial and residential abutters have not taken action to remove the plumbing fixture is a graphic commentary on what they really think about the neighborhood.

Killing the messenger in person takes too much guts. Challenging a "public service" system larded with patronage hacks for not providing service can't be tolerated after all!

Well, what are you supposed to do with an old toilet? The sanitation (hee hee) department won't take them... except... what they forget to tell you in the recycling brochures is that if you give the trash guy a $20, he'll take anything.
