Actually, I had a woodpecker problem in Virginia; the house was EIFS (fake stucco made of styrofoam), and woodpeckers will chomp right through that to get to the 2x4s underneath. I don't imagine that's an issue with brick, though. Ow, my beak.
The "Woody Woodpecker Song", which became a hit record apart from the Walter Lantz cartoons, is a direct rip-off the transitional episode leading to the finale of Howard Hanson's Symphony Number 2, sometimes called the "Interlochen Song". The brass section plays a ta-da-ta-DAH-da theme a few times before the serene music played by the strings enters.
Woody's long since gone from "old" to "classic". The last of the original series was made in 1972 - a year after I was born - yet Woody was a staple of my childhood. I don't think anyone here was born pre-WWII, so we're all in the same boat...
I've gotta think that anyone who says "Woody who?" would also say "Abbott and who?"
I've seen them in both Ringer Park in Allston and along Harvard St. in Brookline. Another species that is learning to tolerate people invading their space.

So, can we expect noise
So, can we expect noise complaints and poorly though out city council bylaw prohibiting more then 4 woodpeckers to a tree?
No, because
woodpeckers don't use ZipCars.
