Major beef on the turnpike

An accident involving four tractor trailers and a car left slabs of beef lay strewn across the turnpike early this morning by the Weston tolls, the Herald reports. No word if anybody was cited for mooving violations.

This sounds

You don't tend to hear of too many oxidents like this.

We all have a steak in this.

Make no bones about it -

- we wouldn't be grilling each other like this or stewing this much about it if it happened on the shoulder. Thank goodness it was the rump end of commute time, or else you'd hear a bellyfull of horns going off about it and chucking this commute into the grinder. Just lucky no-one t-boned that truck; that'd have us all going round and round with no leg to stand on.

(There - now is that enough beating of a dead horse?)

And there's hamburger all over the highway...

Interesting that the Pike has shut off access to the cameras

east of Charlton on their web site. You can still call up the "camera tour" window, but it only shows one camera view - just east of I-84.

Well Done

There was a truck hauling produce that rolled over on Route 24 this morning. I guess the trucker decided that a tossed salad was in order after he heard about the beef on the turnpike.

I'm surprised that you missed this one, Adam.
