Hooker entrance at the State House pretty expensive

Channel 25 rips the covers off this scandal. Or something.

This way to the Hooker

Is the sign in braille so that you can feel your way to General Hooker's entrance?

Hooker's instrument

Need I remind everybody that Hooker's instrument is 100-inches across?

It's about time, I was

It's about time, I was getting sick of all the common general hookers coming in through the classy hooker entrance in the back.

I do have one question, I am not against the signs by the way I think it is for the public good, how did the Governor not notice a half million dollars being used for signs? I would think that he would notice that at some point... maybe someone would have uncovered it after he got zinged for 45,000 drapes? Also how dense can a person be not to see new signs popping up all around him for these past few years.

I've often thought

it would be awesome to run for mayor on the sole platform that if elected, I'll pass a law that my damn name doesn't go on any signs other than the one on my office. Make all new signs, once, and then end the ricockulousness of putting the mayor's name on shit.

I guess before Wikipedia it

I guess before Wikipedia it used to make sense to do that. When entering a new town it sure would be handy to know who the mayor is. What I never got was why these cities and towns could now just make some signs with little eyelets under them and you just have to replace the name and not the whole sign. These days it is silly for the mayor to be mentioned on all signs.

I am surprised that Menino has not tried to tally how much it will cost the city in sign related expenses if he loses. I mean think about it, we could be talking in the hundreds of thousands!

most of the country doesn't put the mayor's name on shit. If you have a reason to know who the mayor is, you can call city hall and ask. Otherwise, you probably don't, and it would make much more sense to put up signs saying where the post office is or where to buy beer or something.

You mean when moving there? Or when driving through.

Even when moving to a new place, I think there are far more useful city departments to get acquainted with than the Mayor's office.

Like Eeka said ... this "politician's name on everything" is quite odd. Some places would call it illegal use of public resources for campaign purposes.

Oh, you goo-goo West Coast hippie-dippie types

Mayors/governors sticking their names on everything is commonplace not just here, but in New York, as well. In fact, I think when you cross the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan, you're greeted with a "Welcome to Brooklyn, Marty Markowitz, Borough President" sign.

But there's a difference

Most borough presidents end up building the signs themselves after they're convicted!

1st thing I thought of is how specialized jobs are becoming these days.
