The whole issue is so dumb.

The whole issue is so dumb. Just filter the site! and while you're at it filter IM, Porn etc etc. I would've thought the peoples republic of Cambridge already w/b doing this? Or is this considered hate?

shortsighted

This is a short sighted reaction that will only mean that city employees cannot use a useful tool to connect with others that is free, swift and offers many features not found elsewhere. Its like banning e-mail or the web when they first came out.
If a "ban" comes I predict that it will be reversed within a year.
