In defense of Roxbury

Derek checks into the debate over whether a quadruple shooting (which left one person dead) happened in the South End or Roxbury and gets upset that it's even an issue:

... Unfortunately, Roxbury residents, along with their counterparts in Dorchester, Mattapan, and the "bad side" of Jamaica Plain are written off by people who don't have a clue. They turn on the TV, tune into the news, and forget that there's more to the world than what they're shown. There are hundreds of people in Roxbury who are gay, artsy, homeowning, tax-paying, law-abiding, or some combination of any and all of those. As a Roxbury resident, I'd appreciate if all those ignorant folks out there would get off their high horses and get a clue. It's bad enough that the media exploits our city's divisions and their problems. The last thing we need is more crap like that online.
