Open discussion of this morning's big news, whatever it is

I'm going out soon for an eye exam that involves having my pupils dilated, which means I'll be kinda blind for awhile (and in any case, I know my health clinic doesn't have WiFi). TMI? The reason I tell you is because it seems like the last few times I've been out of commission for awhile on a weekday, some big story's broken, so why should today be any different? If we're invaded by Martians or whatever, discuss here (with the caveat that, unless you have a free acount, your post won't appear until I regain my sight).

The big story - a bicycle

The big story - a bicycle was dropped on to the Red Line tracks, causing the line to be shut down today. The MBTA wouldn't let anyone take pictures of it. It is not known how often this happens, because the T is violating open records laws.

And the Herald sucks.

There - that's your Universal Hub news of the day, all in one.

I'm sorry

But this story is not complete until I know what Outraged Liberal has to say about it and we learn if they had to deal with delays due to things falling into the way of the horse drawn carriages back in colonial times.

Also, stenographic records.

And let's not forget

...to throw in an East Boston mugging/head punching or two

Trick or Tweet?

We would have to have a rundown from the twits out there ... so we would at least know if thepart of the green line was being played by the red line today.

No worries

The Martian invasion of Boston already took place this weekend. We ended up winning.

Standing by with an ear on the news

I'll be standing by with one ear tuned to the news. You know the UH crew will come through for you.

See what I miss?

Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you!

Here's a tip: If you're going to have your pupils dilated, do it in foliage season and don't bring your sunglasses, because then they'll give you these temporary cardboard sunglasses that make the trees just look absolutely amazing when you drive home.

My one regret

I got home and rushed to my laptop to call up the Supreme Judicial Court to see if I could watch the arguments in the case of the mini-robots poisoning us. Damn it, I called it up just as the justices were leaving the courtroom, now I'll have to wait a couple days to see the replay. At least I got to see the plaintiff was surprisingly young. I pictured some crabby old guy with bushy eyebrows. Goes to show - I shouldn't stereotype crabby old guys with bushy eyebrows.
