Capuano gives a thumb's up to the Yankees
By adamg - Fri, 11/06/2009 - 6:50pm.
KennedySeat.com reports US Rep. (and Senate hopeful) Mike Capuano voted yes on a measure to congratulate the Yankees on their World Series win.
In fact, so did Reps. Frank, Lynch, Tierney, Markey, and Neal. Olver and Tsongas voted "present," McGovern didn't record a vote. Only Delahunt had the courage to vote "nay."

how do we get them to pass a resolution...
to not waste the taxpayer money on this sort of non-political nonsense? i mean really? really!??
i swear, i'm not saying this because it's the yankees. i don't really care who it is. but don't they have better things to do?
because i'll make a deal with them. i am in pretty real danger of losing my job because of state layoffs. how about i go do their job, for only a small portion of their salary, while they are spending their time hanging out voting on what seems like the equivalent of a high school slam book?
That's not how Congress
That's not how Congress works. The process of making legislation involves all sorts of committees and congressional staff working on many different things at the same time so as to create bills which are able to get all the way to the President's desk while still accomplishing some sort of policy goal. As a result, having some guy pop up with a non-binding resolution and yell "HEY BASEBALL IS AWESOME LET'S ALL CONGRATULATE THE YANKEES BECAUSE BASEBALL IS AWESOME" wastes essentially no time, because they're able to do it while other things are being worked on.
