they'll be shoveled under, only to emerge in the spring along with the deep-frozen dogshit. (:o)

Maureen Feeney will probably have an opponent in two years. Some people were already angry at themselves for not running against her this time out. Now that she has proven herself to be a non-factor by her performance in the Flaherty/Menino race, as she couldn't muster enough votes in her own precinct to put Menino above Flaherty there, she is viewed to be ripe for picking. Combine this with her perceived disrespectful behavior toward the firefighters union(she asked for and accepted the firefighter endorsement, then campaigned for Menino outside Local 718's HQ, and cowered when asked to stand with them on the brown-out issue) and she has alot of Dot residents upset. There was talk on Tuesday of Dot guy Joe McEachern making a bid and the firefighters possibly running one of their own against her. She'll be lobbying hard for an appointed position now. Don't be surprised to see Menino appoint her to the Elderly Affairs Commission or some other place where she doesn't have to face the wrath of the voters. But Menino may not be too happy withher either, giver her poor results for him on election day either and could have a candidate of his own picked out already. She may have painted herself into a corner. This could get interesting.

1st Ward 16 hardly ever votes with an incumbent. Hennigan and PDM did well in 16. Timilty and Finnigan did well back in the day against White as well. And to be honest, Menino won precincts 1,3,4,5 and 6 and tied 2. Lost by 19 in Ed Kellys home precinct of 7(excluding illegal vote from quincy residing jake).

2nd To float such a name as a possible candidate is laughable. Does nothing inside the community. Nothing. Takes more then being a cowboy on a reality show to run for office. There are many more candidates inside Dot that would do well running if Feeney did not run or did step aside. People who are active and involved in bettering Neponset. Although sounds like you are simply pushing for any candidate that supports 718. How'd that turn out Tuesday?

Would hope as residents of the city we always hope to be represented by someone who makes the city better....not a few union members richer.

The campaigns usually go around and collect them and it takes a little while. Wood/signs are expensive so they're kept in storage until the next go around. They'll all be picked up soon!
