East Boston teens charged with carjacking Revere pizza delivery guy

Revere police say the two aged 17 and 14, used a gun to hold up a Domino's delivery man and steal his car Friday night.
The older teen, Toby Ryan, was arraigned today on a variety of charges in two separate courts. Prosecutors had asked for bail of $100,000 in Chelsea court on charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Judge Benjamin Barnes set bail at $1,500. In East Boston, Judge Roberto Ronquillo, Jr. set bail at $5,000 for the single count of receiving stolen property.
Ryan is, as they say, known to police. Both judges rejected a request from prosecutors that they revoke his bail on an oustanding shoplifting charge.
The DA's office says the pait held up the Domino's guy on Summer Street in Revere around 6:30 p.m. While officers were there investigating the attack, a witness approached them and told them they should be looking for "Toby" and "Macho," two kids who lived in an East Boston project, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
About an hour after the initial attack, Boston Police spotted Ryan driving the stolen Corolla near Ryan's home on Vallar Road, the DA's office says: "The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but its operator allegedly sped off toward Waldemar Avenue before coming to an abrupt halt. Two occupants dashed from the vehicle, briefly eluding the officers." Police say they found Ryan at his apartment, "sweating profusely but denying having left the apartment." They say they picked up Macho on Waldemar Avenue. Macho is scheduled for arraignment in juvenile court in Chelsea tomorrow, according to the DA's office.
