As an APO alumni of MIT West WPI, we also ran this fundraiser. The concept is that of an ironic beauty pageant / talent show. It's generally not the ugliest who wins, but the contestant who can put together the most hideously outrageous costume. It made for a very entertaining evening.
Probably not much concern there. There was a Mr. and Mrs. MIT contest at one point, and there were a fair number of entrants on the "Mrs." side who weren't even female.

Wonder what kind of response an "Ugliest Woman on Campus" contest would get?
If it was run along side the other contest?

"There was a Mr. and Mrs. MIT contest at one point,"
You forgot to say "when I was there, because I went to MIT."
