The Boston Business Journal interviews a top bank honcho, who says there are other ways to expand in the area besides opening new branches - such as installing more ATMs and online.

Who needs Citicorp?

I can't think of any positive contribution that it makes to society, at least not in the Boston area. The Wang Center has declined under Citi's sponsorship. We'd be better off if the government allowed Citicorp, Bank of America, and other such usurers to fail without bailouts.

sounds like plans to increase more tech and service jobs.
Not a bad thing, especially in the current economic climate. probably also pay better then teller jobs.
