Ask not for whom the plaza tolls, it tolls for thee

A group seeking to end turnpike tolls couldn't collect enough signatures to get a toll ban on the ballot, Associated Press reports.

I wonder how they go about

I wonder how they go about collecting these signatures. I definitely would sign one about tolls.

Tolls

Although you can't discount a bad effort, most people don't pay tolls and would rather have someone else pay a toll than have everyone pay additional gas taxes.

I sent Mike Kelleher 3

By Matt Frank - 11/20/09 - 12:17 am

I sent Mike Kelleher 3 emails between December 2nd of 2008 and the spring of 2009 asking about his efforts. I was in a Boston Globe article about Tobin Bridge tolls. I never received an email back nor did I receive any contact from his organization after showing up in a major daily news paper that surely would have presented itself in a rudimentary Google News search for Tolls and Tobin Bridge.

His mission included getting rid of the tolls on the Tobin Bridge, I would just assume he would possibly think about responding to an email from a Chelsea City Councilor who showed some interest in his work.

How many other people did they miss? If they were interested in getting signatures and support my suggestion would be to answer their emails.

Can't please anyone

Interesting. Here you have a group of people trying to eliminate tolls. Yet on thee article about Robinson proposing free MBTA, all the comments are along the line "users should have to pay for transportation, nothing is free".

So shouldn't you either have a user fee on both or have both be 'free'??

Car drivers are more important...
