The Jamaica Plain Gazette reports the president of the Jamaica Plain Business and Professional Association got nabbed for using his pen to complain about scooters illegally parked on Centre Street connected to ads for a South Boston scooter company.
Is there a collection for the guy?

I really hope they let Mr. Icaza off the hook on this one! He lost his temper and a mildly stupid thing and for this he could get a felony charge? I hope that no one in JP ever has anything to do with that bogus scooter company after this.
I wonder if the business association is planning to do anything to help him? They should.

He paid the street infesters from Southie $1,000 and they agreed to not go forward.
It was one of those FAT markers, NOT a 'pen'

The guy was vandalizing someones property. Should his alleged intentions give him free reign to us his giant sharpie any way he wishes? Are you saying that you want vigilante justice? If a car has a parking ticket then other citizens have the right to vandalize the car? You don't like the way I park, so you write on my car with your magic markers? Where does it end? If I don't shovel my sidewalk then you have the right to throw a rock through my window?
I saw the scooters there, and I still managed to find a parking space. I thought they were stupid, but I didn't find the need to vandalize.
His graffiti is no different than the stuff you see on subways and walls, and no less a felony. Lost his temper? He was bragging about it, for goodness sake!! He is an adult and should know better.
What a cry-baby. Don't do the crime, Icaza, if you can't do the time.
