Another day, another blog network
What's the sound of a land rush in cyberspace? First the outatownas descended on the local blogosphere. Now we're starting to see home-grown blog networks out to make money through the ol' daily post routine.
Dan Zarrella is busy trying to recruit local bloggers to write for his nascent Boston Web Properties sites in exchange for a share of ad revenue. The network already proclaims itself "the most important collection of internet properties in the greater Boston area," which I'm sure would be good for a chuckle at boston.com.
Meanwhile, John Keith is setting up the Boston Ego Network - which so far he's writing all by himself (see Boston 911 as an example).
Zarella dishes that Keith initially agreed to write for him but pulled out because he didn't want to compete with his existing real-estate site.
Hmm, I run sites on three domains (besides this here site, Boston Online and wickedgood.info). And I run ads. Does that make me a network?

Oh, you shouldn't take me so seriously
Oh, Adam, you know I'm always being tongue-in-cheek. How much of a "network" can I run if it's just me writing the posts.
I do feel bad that I committed to Dan, only to pull out two weeks later. As I've told him, only recently have I decided to go out on my own as a real estate broker, and felt like working with a partner on something, so soon after declaring independence, wasn't something I felt like I could commit to. Ironically, I proved the point by not committing to him!
I'm glad he harbors no ill-will. I like his websites. The one on being a Muslim in Boston is a great idea. It's not like we need any more Patriots blogs. (Oops, now who have I offended).
two r's ;)
but seriously yeah, John, you shouldn't feel bad, I understand how these things go.
And yeah I thought the MuslimBostonian.com blog would be a good idea too, but the writer seems to have gone awol on me.
It happens.
BostonLocalMusic.com is doing well already, just started and they've gotten some good stuff. And of course t-rage.com...
Fixed
I really need a personal copy editor (or two).
well, I need a new job...
Will you pay me lots of money?
:-D
Don't talk to me
Dan's the one with all the money, I believe :-).
"Internet
"Internet properties"?!
Pardon me, my eyes just rolled so far that they fell out of my head. I have to go looking for htemszmllppw
Care to elaborate
What's wrong with that phrase?
Or at least what do you perceive as eye-roll inducing about that phrase?
