Escalating time on the T

On More Than A Third Of My Life Is Oeuvre, Brett reports that he timed how long it took him to get up the escalator from the platform at Porter:
... A one way trip was approximately 2:40.
So, at about 5 minutes a day: 25 minutes a week x 50 weeks: the average commuter spends about 20 hours a year riding the metal stairs.

Yes...BUT...
Can anyone claim to have run up the down escalator at Porter Square?
It was one of the greatest accomplishments from my college days. And I did it intoxicated (no kidding) while wearing workboots.
Wow
I'm surprised that any of the escalators in Porter were actually operational for as long as that would take.
