Everyone Just Relax
Vinatieri was a great Patriot and will probably make the Hall of Fame. But he's still a kicker and that's a ton of money to invest in that position which is historically very replaceable. Right now the Pats are stuck in the same position as the great Cowboys teams of the mid 90s. Other teams are overpaying their good players in free agency. The Pats are stuck having to prioritize who to keep and on whom to spend the significant money. A good argument can be made for keeping Vinatieri but I'm with management on this one. That's way too much money for a kicker.
