Yesterday's violent-crime stats

Two people stabbed at Downtown Crossing, two people shot in Roxbury and two people wanted for an armed home invasion, also in Roxbury. Details.

How come none of this was in the morning papers? If nothing else, you might think two stabbings in broad daylight on Washington Street - both apparently involving a gang that also kicked and punched the victims (and well before deadline) - might be worth some coverage, even at the expense of the space used for covering a very large cornflake in Brockton and a city-council candidate who wants the North End to seceed and change its name to Timmy.

Still nothing

Now it is the next day and I didn't see anything in my morning paper. (I only read the Local/City section, so maybe it was elsewhere.)

Why no mention? I'll tell 'ya.

It's a well known fact that tourists and commuters hate to hear about violent crime in the places they like to shop. . .and that City Hall can use the sales tax. Hey, it's just a couple of kids from Roxbury after all.
