The perfect use for City Hall Plaza

On American Erewhonist, Stephen Baldwin explains why City Hall Plaza would be a great place for a performance of "Hamlet":

Single Girl in the City, meanwhile, wonders how the city's director of art and tourism can keep a straight face while proclaiming the recent addition of several gazillion pounds of concrete to the plaza will make it a prime destination for both tourists and locals:

... The fact that this is what greets thousands of tourists yearly speaks volumes of how this City values its urban open and green spaces. And if they think that adding more concrete to the already barren space is going to increase the area's popularity they are sadly mistaken. This is not a case of "if you build it they will come". This is if you build it they'll scratch their heads and wonder what the hell is that? ...
