"Operational difficulties" on the Orange Line this morning

That's what the T calls it when they find a body on the tracks, this time at Green Street. So buses instead of trains between Forest Hills and Ruggles.

Wow. That's pretty scary. I wonder if this has anything to do with what sounded like shots followed quickly by sirens just before 9pm last night?

Around 8:10 last night, the Globe reports (you won't find it on BPDNews.com, since it happened at the station, which is under the MBTA Police, which has a Web site that looks like it was built in 1998, i.e., no blog or current crime news, not Boston Police).

I don't think that's it.

Susannah has a photo of people waiting for the bus last night since, of course, Forest Hills was shut down.

As I was driving down Washington from Doyle's to Forest Hills around 8:40 on Sunday night I saw 4 police cars (3 unmarked) with lights and sirens heading towards Center St. Oh and an ambulance too. Never saw anything about it on BPD News or boston.com.

Was there ever any ID or further info on the guy who was hit by the Orange Line?

Well, the Globe finally covered in on the boston.com site. They report a man walking by the Northbound tracks struck around 6 a.m. and killed. The newsflash doesn't have much, but enough to clarify that it was as bad as on might expect.

There was a stabbing at Forest Hills last night AND a person struck by a train at 6am this morning. So maybe they aren't calling the body "operational difficulties." Maybe that's how they summarize TWO JP events that have shut down Orange Line service.
