Confrontation at the beach

Michelle witnesses a nuclear meltdown at the Framingham town beach:
... I guess this girl was told to stop doing something and she kept doing it so a lifeguard shouted for her to stop. Then the mother came stomping onto the docks and yelled "Hey! You don't yell at my child like that, OKAY?†and the lifeguard explained that the girl had kept doing something she's not supposed to and the mom (now accompanied by her friend who was chiming in too) said "You don't yell at my child okay?? You have no right to yell at her! I'm the one that gave birth to her - OKAY?" ...

That woman is very rude.
The lifeguard was just doing his job.
If I were that lifeguard I would have gotten the police over there and had the cop talk to the kid.
These kids these days think they can do whatever they want and have no sense of authority and now parents like that should be shot to hell.
They just let their kids act that way.

Hard to blame the kid for that one if the mother gives the message that no one is to talk with her child. I wonder if she's really entitled and this comes from outrage that anyone else would interact with her child, or if she's beat down and resentfula nd her child is the one area where she feels like she has authority.
Or if she's a perfect parent who got caught in a bad moment, and I should shut up and stop playing amateur psychologist on someone I've never met.
