What would Roslindale Square be without at least two discount joints?

Dollar days!

Roslindale shoppers devastated when Closeouts on Poplar Street closed, leaving them no way to compare the prices at Jax, are no doubt thrilled to see that Closeouts is being replaced by a dollar store.

Meanwhile, around the corner, on Washington Street, Pazzo Books is closing for a few days to install more shelves, an espresso bar and a skeeball machine. Skeeball! Relief for long-suffering Parkway residents who've had to go without since Major League Lanes in West Roxbury shut down.

... [T]ickets won will be good for books and maybe even an array of highly literate prizes. ...

Finally, I continue to worry about the future of Bangkok Cafe - the other day, I went in around 12:45 p.m and there was nobody in the dining room except the owner.

Espresso and skeeball that wins books, what could be better?

No, really, I'm extremely dorkily excited about this.
