T fan

Halley Suitt will have none of your MBTA carping:

The transit system here in Massachusetts ... Boston really ... is awfully good. This morning, though the bus was so packed full, the driver just waved me away when I tried to put my change in the fare box. ...

I'm SO TIRED of listening to

I'm SO TIRED of listening to people complain about the T. Talk about beating a dead horse! Yeah, everyone knows that sometimes the T sucks, but deal with it, people. One can get practically anywhere in the city for $1.25, which isn't such a bad deal, when you stop to think about it. We could be in L.A., and not have a subway sytem at all. Or in San Fransisco, where it's much more expensive. Or in NYC, where it's 100 degrees inside all of the stations. If an annoying transit experience is the biggest problem in your life, well, good for you. Now please stop talking about it.

LA has a subway system

It's not very comprehensive, but it's there.

Oops, my bad. I thought

Oops, my bad. I thought they only had a bus system.

I'm tired of the T sucking

There is a whole class of people beholden to the MBTA; for some, it is their only transportaion option. Others have the luxury of only using the T on the weekend or for a trip to Fenway.

If the T were mearly *annoying*, people would not dedicate wholesale amounts of time to get their voices heard. We don't bitch (most of the time) because we have nothing better to do. We want change. Every year, I miss countless medical appoinments, work hours, classes, etc because of the T's failure. We're not talking occasionally being 10 mins late. We're talking consistent failure to deliver the advertised product and the corollary impact on people's lives. If the bus doesn't show up and I can't get to work, I might get fired. That exceedes "annoying". Bernie and Phyl are "annoying". Getting fired because of the MBTA and not having money to eat is infuriating.

We mearely want accountability. When the T stops sucking, I'll stop complaining.

Perhaps if the T is so

Perhaps if the T is so unreliable you should....stop relying on it?

Just a thought.

And I am tired about people talking about baseball

Just a question, do you ride the T?

Now back to baseball - Do you not have a life? Do you not have anything better to do with you time? Baseball is about as exciting as golf.

I just skip over the posts about baseball, you could try the same with the ones about the T.

yes I ride the T

I've lived and worked in Boston for six years and I've never owned a car, so yes, I ride the T every day. If I really need to be somewhere on time, I just leave early enough to account for potential delays. Sure, there are days when the service is slow, but overall, I don't think it's nearly as atrocious as people make it out to be. (Then again, I don't live on the Green Line.) No one I know has ever been fired and subsequently starved because of the MBTA. Most of my experiences on the T have been adequate. Once, I lost my wallet on the bus and the driver found it, tracked me down via a work ID card, and returned it to me.

But yes, I see your point. If I'm sick of people complaining about the T, I can easily skip over those posts.
