It looks like Thimbleberries
It looks like Thimbleberries to me, but I'm no expert.
invasive plants listing
http://www.newfs.org/conserve/invlist.htm
I didn't go through all the content on the webpage, but this site may help identify that plant.
I have a friend who is an invasive plant specialist but he's living up in the way high mountains of washington state now working for the forest service near Yakima. He has no PC or phone, so I can't even ask him to identify it.
He worked for Acadia National Park for years, and Lupines are considered by the national parks to be an invasive species. they were brought in from elsewhere, and planted all over maine. The NPS has a strict eradication program of ANY invasive, so he spent a lot of time pulling up lupines.
and people HATED him. people would drive through the park and YELL at him.
it was somewhat amusing.
