What is it with Dunkin' Donuts workers, part CXIII
Margalit joins the ranks of people unable to get simple orders filled at her regular Dunkin' Donuts:
... Every frigging time I go into my local Dunks, they get the order wrong. Sometimes I get hot coffee with no cream and sugar. Or maybe an iced coffee with cream AND sugar. Or a small iced latte with sugar. Or a Mocha Latte. You never know. Because what you order and what you get have absolutely no relationship to each other.
I used to think it might be because I talk fast, so I slowed my order way down. "I'd ... like ... a ... large ... iced... coffee ...with ... cream....and...NO ... sugar ... please."
Well, that was a pipe dream. I still got various coffee drinks, but not what I ordered. ...

Dunkies
I had my favorite Dunkies experience yesterday.
I drove up to the little drive thru talkie window and ordered a small black iced coffee - simple, right?
I got to the window and received a large hot coffee with milk - what?
So I told the teller that my order was wrong. Her reply "Well, if that's what you wanted, you should have said so!"
All I could say was "Um, I did."
Hmm, I'm starting to
Hmm, I'm starting to consider myself lucky. At my Dunkies (on Huntington), not only is the manager always there, but they've never screwed up my order, they're always cheerful, and I've seen them go over and above expected politeness to help customers out.
Another decent Dunkin' Donuts
Rte. 9 westbound in Wellesley. Although, yes, they do sometimes screw up my order, usually when somebody other than the manager (who knows my "regular") fills my order for a coffee, skim milk, no sugar.
Why go to Dunkies for coffee?
I get my coffee at Contrada's on Hanover Street, or Boston Beanstock on Salem Street, or Red Barn on the ground floor of Faneuil Hall. None of them have ever goofed up my order.

Some of us have no choice
The only coffee places on my commute are Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. And, well, those of you who know me know I prefer the Double-D.
Local Small Business
Actually, the DD I go to is local "small" business. It's a franchise location owned by someone who lives in the area. Does that not count as local? I know small is probably questionable, but if he only owns a single location?

Well, there aren't all that
Well, there aren't all that many small local businesses in my area of Huntington. I could go to Golden Horn (and I frequently do), but it takes me out of my way, and my stomach just can't handle the robust, caffeiny goodness of small batch coffee every day :)
Ok, that's odd. I'm logged

I used to work on Congress Street, and the DD there was the worst by far at screwing up orders. Obviously many of the employees were recent immigrants and struggled with English. I sympathsize, but really they should at least be able to take simple orders if they work the counter. Like a pp, I have also experienced the "Well you should have said iced coffee if that's what you wanted." thrown back at me. That just makes me furious.

i work at dunks and if a customer is rude to me id make their coffee wrong and refuse to give money back or remake it
