Boston.com going for that alternative-media audience?

Vigilant Dan Kennedy notices some interesting workshops posted on the boston.com user events page, involving, um, interpersonal communications skills. The listings were still up around 10:30 a.m. 7 p.m. today (note: finally taken down). A screen capture:

test text
I suspect that a web designer was using that as sample text to test the page layout, and the sample text managed to sneak past several people and go live onto the production server.
Whatever happened to the days of using "ETAOIN SHRDLU" or "lorem ipsum" as sample text? Sure, you'd see it in print once in a while, but it wasn't anywhere near that embarrassing.
Oh right: at least the first of those went out the window with Linotype machines.
Not in this case, I don't think
When I'm working on page design, I usually use "xxxxxxx" or "will this crap work?" Yeah, that's the life-on-the-edge kinda guy I am. :-).
In this case, however, somebody seems to actually be using one of the few "user content" systems boston.com has to advertise blowjob and laptop classes. See this post, which leads you to this listing of "adult education" classes in Boston.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but we're talking about a media outlet that can't bring itself to print the entire name of Yo La Tengo's latest album.
I still use lorem ipsum
I still use lorem ipsum when I'm designing. http://www.lipsum.com
:-)
Lorem Ipsum ...
is also a bookstore in Inman Square, Cambridge.
OK, true confession time
I actually tend to use random blocks of text from the Wicked Good Conference to fill space (with "xxxxxxx" and "will this crap work" reserved for testing out particular applications). It's an incentive to fix whatever problem I'm trying to solve :-).
