Remembering the good old days of the Combat Zone

Some people have fond memories of Boston's (now mostly paved under) adult entertainment zone. See the most recent comments toward the bottom of this Combat Zone defintion, from a dancer, a waitress and a guy whose father managed one of the lounges:

Ahhh...the combat zone

I remember my first foray down thataway. '85 maybe it was. Within five minutes we were offered pot and fake ID's. Just what a growing college boy like myself needed.
Then the bar tab at the "Naked I" hit the table (ID's? We didn't need no stinkin' ID's).
"Excuse me! How much for a bottle of Bud again???"
