Yet another Harvard Square institution closes shop

Charles Bandes reports that Ferranti Dege closed last week:

... I'm sad to see them go, they were a real institution in the Boston photo community and just a fun place to go and browse. ...

wow, every camera i've ever bought (while living in the Boston area) has come from Ferranti Dege. new and used. they were a great place for getting accessories, and especially lenses for older cameras.

my first time there i remember getting the $2bills in change, and then noticing that the copy center next door had copy machines that took $2 bills.

I agree, it's sad

I knew the place because I did a lot of photography but also years later when I worked down the street in Harvard Square. I hate to see venerable places like this close.

I think my signature says it all
