When the zoning board hears from a lawyer who approves raises for members

Kevin McCrea reports:

I was sitting in the zoning board of appeals hearings on the 8th floor of City Hall yesterday, with the usual cast of characters, and sure enough Larry Dicara was representing a client before the board and of course it was approved.

Why wouldn't it? Larry is the head of the compensation committee which recently approved raises for the members of the zoning board of appeal. I was wondering if Larry had ever been rejected by the ZBA?? It sure seems like the Harlem Globetrotters vs. the Washington Generals whenever he (and others on the inside) take the stage. ...

Such an interesting mix of roles in City government - heading up the Compensation Advisory Board AND the Audit Committee.

Di Cara is also representing the Forsyth Dental Institute and has appeared before the City Council requesting a home rule petition for Forsyth, which would SUSPEND THE MASSACHUSETTS CONSTITUTION!! ("Notwithstanding Article 97...) This appeal to the Council came after the Compensation Advisory Board recommended that the Council receive a substantial pay raise. The home rule petition which DiCara seeks on behalf of his client will give the Forsyth 15,000 square feet of CITY PARK LAND to develop on. If you aren't outraged, you aren't paying attention.
