Mother of 11 dies from hit-and-run accident in South End

Update: Sadly, the victim, Linda Cruz of Dorchester, died the next day.

Boston Police report the woman, 57, was crossing at the intersection of Warren Street and Dartmouth Avenue at 9:39 a.m. today when struck by a dark-colored Volvo:

According to witness descriptions, a black male, described as being bald and wearing a long black overcoat, operating a newer model Volvo sedan struck the victim with that vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle, checked on the victim, and returned to the car fleeing on Warren Avenue toward Columbus Avenue without identifying himself.

She was taken to Mass. General, where she faces life-threatening injuries.
