First man's chain is yanked, then he's stabbed repeatedly in the back

Boston Police report a fight that started early this morning with a man's chain being pulled at a Back Bay restaurant ended with him stabbed multiple times by a guy with "Washington" tattooed on his forearm.

Police say the victim, 31, was at Whiskey's Steakhouse, 885 Boylston St., shortly before 2 a.m. when he objected to another man pulling his chain. Police say a fight ensued:

During the fight the male suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the back. Witnesses reported the male suspect then fled in a green Honda Accord (unknown registration) along with three black males.

The victim was taken to Mass. General and is expected to survive, police say.

In addition to the tattoo, police describe the stabber as black, with dreadlocks, wearing black clothes and a black hat - which police now have in their possession.

If you know a black guy with "Washington" tattooed on his forearm, contact D-4 detectives at 617-343-5619 or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or texting TIP to CRIME (27463).
