    it wasn't El Pelon again!

    I may be mistaken, but...

Is this not the same building that had a fire in a first-floor apartment last year, which took until recently a number of months to reconstruct and refurnish for habitation? I just moved out of the city, so I cannot check for myself, but this seems a little suspicious if it happens to be the same building. It may be a totally different building, but if it is the same one, it does bring back memories of the arsons on Westland Ave and Symphony Road back in the '70s.

Considering this was some time ago now, figured I should set the record straight on this. I was living directly below the unit that caught fire in this year's fire and was there for the 2011 fire and both of them were accidents. It did take them until September 2012 to get the first unit livable again and they had started renovating some of the older units, which is what was happening in this unit the day it caught fire. The individuals doing the work had been stomping around in the kitchen all morning doing plumbing work, they left around 1:30pm and the fire started shortly after that point. No connections to arson, just an overloaded outlet in 2011 and piss poor construction work in 2012.
