Man charged with triggering fatal asthma attack - with gunfire

Michael "Fresh" Stallings, 23, is scheduled for arraignment this morning for the death of a man who suffered an asthma attack that put him in a fatal coma after Stallings allegedly began shooting at him and two other men as they stood on Blue Hill Avenue last year, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Stallings allegedly opened fire on [Kelvin] Rowell and two other men as they stood on Blue Hill Avenue; Rowell ran from the shots, suffered an asthma attack, and lapsed into a coma from which he never awoke. He died on March 5, 2012, and Suffolk prosecutors subsequently indicted Stallings for murder on the theory that he deliberately caused the sequence of events leading to Rowell's death.

Innocent, etc.
