Pet dog ripped to shreds by pit bull; Independence Wharf ransacked

BPDNews reports that a woman out for a walk yesterday watched helplessly as a pit bull killed her pet at Ross Field in Hyde Park:

The victim stated that the pit bull was in the playground area and was not leashed, when it jumped over the fence to the playground and began attacking her dog. Animal control responded to the scene and removed the victim's dog.

And police are looking for two suspects who went through several floors at 470 Atlantic Ave., going through file cabinets for good stuff - including credit cards that were then used to charge things.

If only Mayor Menino would allow law abiding dogs to carry guns, this would never have happened.
