How lucky is Michael Ross?

Wednesday dawned with the dashing city councilor about to become a laughingstock. Then, well, you know.

But watch your back, Mr. Ross. Amy has her eye on you:

None of this means I'm forgetting about you, Michael Ross, Boston City Councilor, and your parking violations. For shame!

Is Councilor Ross's car REGISTERED IN BOSTON?

By KatieD (not verified) | Fri, 02/02/2007 - 10:43am

At a community meeting last night, there was much discussion of the parking ticket tempest, the big question being - WHY NO RESIDENT STICKER???

The discussion was that Councilor Ross's car is registered as garaged principally in Newton, - ergo no Boston resident sticker.

Does anyone know how to verify that?

If true, he is paying his annual excise tax into Newton's coffers, not Boston's. And I guess it must be a struggle as a single guy making $87,500 to pay the Boston differential on car insurance.

One possible way to find out

If you can get his plate number, go to

http://www.cityofboston.gov/excise/

and type it in (no spaces between the left and right numbers/letters, though). It'll either provide a link that lets you see how much he owes or tell you the number isn't in the city database (in which case, you'll know his car isn't registered in Boston).
