What's the difference between a blog entry and a "story?"

Everybody who signs up for a Universal Hub account gets a free blog. You can use this to post, well, pretty much anything you want. If you want to write extensively on a particular topic, blogs are ideal, because your main blog page will list all of your blog postings (in reverse chronological order). You even get an RSS feed to go with it.

However, by default, blog items are NOT added to the Universal Hub home page.

If you want to file a story for possible use on the home page, use Story instead - these submissions are automatically added to the queue so that editors can vote on whether is cool/important/interesting enough to warrant a front-page listing.

Stories do not get their own RSS feed, except as part of specific topics to which they're added (so if you click "Roslindale" on the story-creation page, that item will become part of our Roslindale RSS feed).
