You know you're in Boston when ...

You're eating lunch at Bukhara in Jamaica Plain and these girls at a nearby table suddenly start singing "1-800-54-GIANT."

What are your "you know you're in Boston when" moments?

All I can say is that I almost ate lunch there today. We may have had tables next to each other and never realized it. Ships in the night...

I almost ate at the Cambodian/Thai place, but decided I was just too tired to deal with choices - so I went for the Indian buffet.

Anybody remember the big banner behind the batters at Fenway? There was one year where they stuck it up there and it was positions such that the camera would catch it for each at bat.

The problem was that the batters would invariably stick their rear end out in such a way that the G and L would be covered. The banner would then read GIANT _ _ ASS.

We had a service call from them one summer day and I was joking with the repair guy. When he finished the windshield I asked him if he was tired of the jingle and he lamented "I'm more tired of being the Giant Ass guy".

...when you are in the right field grandstand watching the Sox play the Orioles (!) on a cold night in April (!), and a bunch of beery guys around you start chanting "Yankees Suck!".

It was Brian Daubach who would perfectly block the G and L when he was batting.

I'm in Raleigh, NC now, and yesterday, I saw a car on the road with an NC plate that said:
