Carmen pays tribute to Brad Delp, the Boston front man who also performed with Beatles cover band Beatlejuice - and who died yesterday:
I was out with Steve tonight when I got Ms. N's message. He wanted coffee and just to go home, but after we got the news he was cool and whisked me over to Johnny D's. We drank a quiet beer. The crowd was doing OK. It just felt like any slow night, except that Johnny D's is rarely slow on a Friday, and except there was a bouquet of grocery store flowers on the stage, and except that the outside of the bar kept showing up on the TV in the corner, on Fox News or whatever, flashing an establishing shot of where we were, where the subject of the lead story was supposed to have been. ...
Scott Allen Miller says good bye:

Thanks, Brad, for keeping me company (and awake) for hours on long cross country drives while my cassette of Boston's first album got more and more worn out. Thanks, Brad, for being patient enough to complete the "Third Stage" album, which set the standard for 80s hard rock. Thanks, Brad, for the great show at the Meadowlands in '87! ...
