Interviewing the people detained in that Immigration raid

AmberPaw worked as a volunteer today, doing Spanish interviews with some of the people arrested in New Bedford:

A "criminal history" means you have previously been convicted of a crime.
Undocumented?
They were given fake documents by their employers, if the news reports are correct. This makes me wonder if they even knew that they were not here legally, as they are unlikely to know/understand the byzantine and horrendously outdated immigration processes in the US.
It is possible that, for all they knew, the employer had "taken care of it". If you have good reason to think that you are living legally in the US and you have been taken advantage of, have you committed a crime?
