Saving a cabbie from immolation
About that cab that caught fire on Cambridge Street yesterday morning: Not only did Carpundit witness the fire, he reports he had to convince the driver to get out of the car:
... I saw it pulled over and the driver just sitting there, staring down at the passenger seat as if he were examining a map. He was oblivious of the flames rising out of the instrument panel. If I'd had a camera, I could show you. But I didn't. Instead, I ran over and opened the door.
The cab driver, an elderly man, seemed confused. He wasn't moving out of his burning car. I mean, who sits in a car when the entire dashboard is aflame? Then he wouldn't move. I yelled at him, pulled him, persuaded him to get out, which he did. ...
