Getting in easier than getting out
I once got locked in at Harvard, behind one of those gates. For some reason, you needed an ID to get out of the area between one of the buildings I had wandered through and the street. I ended up scaling the fence to get out.
Harvard Yard gates
The only times I've seen all of them locked are during Commencement, and at least one Harvard-Yale game day. I'm curious to see the area where you got locked in.
Hmmm.
I thought that they locked all of them after 7:30 or 8:00 at night, no matter what.
No
I've walked through the Yard at just about all hours of the day and night. Remember that freshmen live there! Some gates are locked in the evening, but Johnson (Johnston?) Gate and the one by the Science Center are always open.
Ok.
That I didn't know.
