Symphony Hall Altercation
What most commentators on this dust-up have failed to understand is the fact that a Boston Pops concert is NOT akin to a typical classical music concert. People aren't listening intently...drinks and food are served to people sitting at tables in fact. Undoubtedly the offending party went too far, but hey, it wasn't Beethoven's "Eroica", a piece heard in the same Hall a few days before. If anyone indulged in casual conversation during a genuine symphonic work while the parent Orchestra was playing, dozens may have set upon the offender!
I didn't know that the Pops
I didn't know that the Pops did alterations. When did they begin doing that?
