The phantom T stop

Jonathan Kamens almost became a man who never returned - he trusted he'd hear the announcement for Sutherland Road as he took the Green Line outbound, only he missed the stop because that stop never gets announced:

... I rushed to the front of the train as it pulled up to the next stop and said, "Is this Sutherland Street?"

Driver: "No, this is Chiswick. The last stop was Sutherland Street."

Me: "Why didn't the train announce Sutherland?"

Driver: "It never does." ...

Stupid Greenline Rules

By bostran1 | Tue, 05/15/2007 - 10:44am

It is not at all uncommon for the B and C lines to skip stops above ground. It is infinitely annoying though. Every once in awhile a driver will announce that passengers need to hit the buzzer if they want to get off while heading outbound. But more than a few passengers don't understand what is going on (and rightfully so). Its the inconsistency on the Greenline that drives me crazy

The E line usually requires the buzzer on outbound stops about four or five before Heath Street. At least when I've ridden out that far, the driver announces this fact.

Stop request

By Turnpike Mike (not verified) | Mon, 05/21/2007 - 11:59am

Why not just pay attention and pull the stop request line or push the yellow stop request strip before the car gets to your stop? This would save everyone else on the car, AND everyone waiting down the line from each and every car having to stop at each and every stop when the stop may not have anyone waiting to get off. Its bad enough the stops are at every intersection, don't make it worse by requiring the cars to stop every couple of yards so you can listen to your walkman or read the paper...
