I wonder how he'll deal with "gringos" now?
I think Mr. Barrios will find it a lot harder to get away with insulting what he calls "gringos" in the halls of corporate America.
Fight the power, indeed!
which means yet more special elections in Somerville
In the past 21 months, we have had six special elections in Somerville:
- Senator Charlie Shannon died, and we replaced him with Representative Pat Jehlen
- For the now-vacant Representative seat, we chose Alderman-at-large Denise Provost
- Denise decided that she didn't want to hold two offices, and resigned from the Board of Aldermen. We elected Jack Connolly to replace her
Each of these required a primary followed by a general election. And now we have two more to look forward to (though only in 2 of our 21 precincts this time). It is getting old.
