Murder suspect's sister charged with witness intimidation

LaDawn Hicks, 35, of Dorchester, was charged yesterday with intimidating a witness in her brother's current murder trial by somehow convincing him, in a series of phone calls on Monday, not to show up in court on Tuesday. Hicks was released on her own recognizance.

Her brother, Jason Meeks, is on trial this week for the fatal 2001 shooting of Alvaro Sanders outside a Blue Hill Avenue auto repair shop. Jury deliberations begin today.

In other court news, Richard Glawson, put away last week for 45 years for a multi-town crime spree in 2001 that ended with a Dedham cop being shot (he'll serve the sentence after he finishes a 20-year sentence in Norfolk County related to the same crimes), was indicted yesterday for punching a juror, which forced a mistrial, and for threatening to kill the entire jury in his second trial.
