How long before Boston tries something stupid like this?

Hopefully, never, but anyway: New York is considering requiring people to get permits to take photos on city property - including sidewalks. Meanwhile, Silver Spring, Md. essentially deeded a good chunk of its downtown to a private developer, who had been sending goons out to keep people from taking photos on public streets, at least, until the Washington Post wrote about it.

is bigger lenses! I'm sure they'd be more comfortable with people set up several blocks away photographing their building with a big 400mm lens . . .
