Let's turn to the Globe story by Matt Viser, who presumably has no ax to grind in this battle, being relatively new to the metro desk and all:
He has Conley saying he's so upset at Davis not consulting with him he's thinking of, among other things, putting State Police in charge of homicide investigations in Boston. As for Davis:
Both of these guys are big boys and can, presumably work things out. As a resident of this city where 9-year-olds are getting shot at late-night parties (along with 15- and 16-year olds), I hope they do so soon.
