I can vouch for South Bay Home Depot. I once brought two plants to the check out. One didn't have a price tag on it (a very big nice hearty plant). A manager came over and said "How much is the other one?" The "other one" was a small plant. Basically, I got a large plant for the price of a very small one. A fluke, but they do have nice plants.
Also, Ikea. They have tons of Pothos plants that are really cheap and almost never die even in low light. You could go without watering for weeks. It will wilt, but all you have to do is water it again and it bounces right back. These are the only plants even I can kill. Ikea calls the "Epipremnum." It also goes by the name "Devil's Ivy."

Oddly enough, I've had great luck at South Bay Home Depot. I'm surrounded by plants inside and out of my home and most originated at Home Depot!
Target Has A Large Selection Of Plants That Won't Die
( these plants aren't "needy" — as a Valentine gift, they don't force a commitment )
Must the plant be heart shaped?
Or just last a long time? AKA hardy
Oh, it will die...
.... eventually.

"Hardy"
The term is "hardy" (as opposed to "tender"), not "hearty". If you're googling, that may help.
