Why's somebody shooting a laser at a building in the Prudential complex?

Dan Kennedy is curious.

It's a construction crane lit up. It has been that way for months. If Dan is just noticing it now he should have his eyes checked for a potentially serious condition.

Yup. More specifically, it's the site of the Four Seasons/One Dalton tower. More cool pictures of the crane here: http://www.archboston.org/community/showthread.php?t=4852&page=98

Sometimes they cycle the lights through different colors, it's really cool to see coming over the Mass Ave bridge.

Once in a while they should flip the lights on and off and play a pew pew noise.

Remember the 2007 Boston Mooninite panic (if you don't, it has its own wikipedia page.)

Into oblivion.
Really screwed the skyline up.
Won't be as obvious with all the new buildings though

It looks like the Imperial Margarine Building is being zapped.

The building makes think of a coffee percolator. Still waiting to see coffee bubbling to the top. But I do see the Imperial Margarine crown.

I read a while back that the cap was somehow a requirement by Menino. Whatever the reason I like it. It adds a bit of fun to the skyline.

Because it's so weird looking next to everything around it.

Looks like something out of a bad 1980's action movie.
