A sleepless citizen files a complaint from Cornell and Kittredge streets in Roslindale:

Awful piercing loud beeping noise outside every 10-15 seconds near intersection of Cornell and kittredge, for two days now, round the clock- what is it and who can shut it off?? Its maddening.

Ed. question: Could it be a smoke detector going off at the house that caught fire at Kittredge and Glendower a couple nights ago?

FIrefighters working to put out fire on Kittredge Street in Roslindale

Firefighters attack fire from above and below.

A fire did extensive damage to the third floor and roof of 314 Kittredge St. in Roslindale this evening.

Boston firefighters responded around 6:15 p.m. to the three-story house for a fire that quickly went to two alarms. Read more.

Architect of proposed Roslindale Square condos points out buildings

Immediate neighbors of a 19-unit, two-building condo proposal for land behind the Roslindale Square municipal parking lot raised issues of setback, privacy and loss of sun at a BRA meeting at the Roslindale Community Center tonight. Once the developer and his architect agreed to work on those, the talk turned, as it usually does, to parking - and the issue of increasing the housing stock in a neighborhood that has been largely been unaffected by the building boom hitting other parts of the city. At-large city councilor Steve Murphy called for restrictions on development in Boston at a candidate forum in Roslindale tonight. Fellow at-large councilor Ayanna Pressley, meanwhile, wants to look at restricting the numbers of certain types of franchise operations in particular neighborhoods. Read more.

Effie's Kitchen in Roslindale Square

Workers have been busy lately getting the old Wapo Taco on Poplar Street and the former Bel Lounge on Washington Street for new tenants.

The new sign for Eftimia Meletlides's Effie's Kitchen went up this week above the former Wapo Taco, which closed in June after its landlord doubled its rent. Read more.

Tour de Force bicyclists crest hill in Roslindale and head down to Boston Harbor

Several hundred bicyclists rode from New York to Boston in a four-day ride to remember 9/11 and raise funds for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty. Early this afternoon, they turned up Washington Street in Dedham. As they crested the hill at West Roxbury Parkway, they got a view of downtown Boston - where they'd end their ride at the harbor.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. at 14 Kittredge St., near Washington. His injuries were serious enough to have the homicide unit called in.

UPDATE: The Globe reports the victim will live. No word on motive or if he lived there.
